A Multicolored Tale.

Here are some spreads from my second storybook. The story is about different colors in Islam.

Handwritten type.

After doing a lot of research on which type would work best for the books, 

I decided on the curly hand type with colored strokes.

And here's what it looks like laid on the page (click to enlarge)

Brandmark transformation.

On the left is the original graphic brand mark for Amal, A Mulsim Tale of Hope, and on the right is the 

renewed brand mark: made out of collaged pieces of paper, to matche the rest of the storybooks theme.

Below are the different versions of the final brand mark (Starting from upper left): 1) Full color on light background, 

2) Full color on dark background, 3) Two-color on light background, 4) Two-color on dark background).

Character #1 Doll.

I'm so excited about this one. My vision is slowly becoming reality,
and truth of the matter...it's pretty close to what I had imagined it!

First sketch from my storybook food tale, Vale and I are collaborating, where she sends me her final sketch, then I add Wael's calligraphy, send it back to her, then she paints it.

I appreciate her patience. I really do.

I'm working with Wael, on old work colleague, on Arabic calligraphy for my thesis, mixing Arabic calligraphy with Roman letters would give it a mixed authentic look, wish I'm hoping to achieve.

Doll face drawing.

This is the first official face drawing that will be implemented on the doll,
created based on the 1st character.

This one was inspired by an Islamic Carpet in Alhambra, Spain.

Patterns.

I'm currently creating different patterns using Islamic emblems and symbols, but still giving it a modern look and feel by using bright colors. These patterns will be printed on fabric and used for chapter openers and for the doll's outfits...I'm so excited about this whole project I wish I can fast forward to see the outcome, no wait, this way I won't be able to go through this whole process...never mind!
